Cleaning up and giving back
At Lick sustainability is at the core of everything we do. That’s why all of our paint is both water-based and low VOC.
Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are compounds that easily turn into vapours or gases at room temperature. VOCs are usually released from burning fuels such as coal, natural gas or gasoline.
You can also find VOCs in many popular consumer and household products such as cleaning products, paints and solvents. Therefore, we believe it to be vital to produce our paint as certified low-VOC.
We’ve previously partnered with ‘4ocean’ to remove plastic from our oceans and ‘One Tree Planted’ to help restore our forests. Additionally, we only produce our products in small, made to order batches to avoid wastage and never test our paint on animals - they are all vegan friendly!
To date, we’ve donated 14 million litres of clean drinking water to communities in Cambodia. As part of our journey to becoming Carbon Neutral, we’ve partnered with ClimatePartner to help provide cleaner energy to towns and villages in Colombia and Rwanda. Locally, we’ve partnered with UK charity, Campaign Against Living Miserably to encourage conversations around mental health. Local neighbourhoods or worldwide, we’re part of the global movement to use our business as a force for good.
